Positioned in the far corner of "Whale Close" the house forms part of the much sought after Wilderness Garden Estate. The Estate was built in an aim to provide luxurious housing in a safe environment for overseas as well as South African residents. Emphasis was placed on leaving the surroundings in a natural state to protect natural vegetation, surrounding dunes and wildlife. Its sought after status was emphasised when it was featured on the South African glamour and entertainment show, Top Billing. Because of the surrounding vegetation and hedges a wholly secluded and safe atmosphere is created.

Safety is always an important question. Wilderness Garden Estate is a privately owned estate with approximately 45 executive homes. The entrance to the estate is gated and manned by 24 hour security personnel. Also, as an additional precaution, the house is alarmed and linked to a security company which monitors the alarm and provide armed response if need be. In the four years since the house was built there has however been no problems relating to security. The Wilderness and larger Garden Route area could easily be described as South Africa's safest district. Neighbours and residents of Wilderness are testimony to the safety and low crime in this region.
