When we first visited South Africa and toured the garden route, Wilderness was without doubt our favourite place.  It is a very special place and is blessed with natural and unspoilt beauty and climate to match.  Mountains, lakes, meandering rivers, beautiful flynbos with wonderful aromas and the most impressive stretch of unspoilt beach.

We are surrounded by nature, rare plants, mammals and birds, and located between the warm Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua mountain range.

The house is situated in Wilderness Garden Estate on the dunes of this spectacular coastline with uninterrupted views over the ocean.  It is in a quiet cul-de-sac in a commanding position with easy access to the beach. Whales and dolphins are regularly spotted from the house.

The Garden Estate is a safe and friendly development with 24 hour access control and security, only a ten minute drive from George and even closer to the new Garden Estate shopping mall.  We have the ocean, the beach and also enjoy the 5 lakes and rivers, bird watching, fishing, walking and exploring.  The local restaurants are excellent and inexpensive and each time we go, we discover new activities and places.  There are game reserves, mountain passes, ostrich farms, elephant, cat, wolf, monkey and bird sanctuaries as well as other beaches close by such as Victoria Bay.  Zoos and caves to name a few more; golfing and fishing is also excellent, but most of all it is the natural beauty and the experience of just being in Wilderness.
